The Rural Infrastructure Project, implemented in Honduras between 2006 and 2016, helped improve the access, quality and sustainability of basic infrastructure services. As a result now more Hondurans have water and sanitation, electricity and roads in good condition. The project also helped develop local capacity and prepare to respond effectively and efficiently to an emergency. Through two loans worth 60 million dollars, this project has enabled 184.779 people have access to rehabilitated roads and 94.212 to have rural electrification thanks to network extension actions. It has also facilitated the installation of solar systems benefiting 91.458 people, who can now also access water systems.

In this episode Eli the Computer Guy talks about the basic concepts for designing a virtualized infrastructure. He goes over why Type 1 Hypervisors are important, SAN's (Storage Area Networks), and why each instance of a server should do as little as possible to educe vulnerabilities.
This is part of a class series hosted by Learn to Code LA: http://www.meetup.com/LearnToCodeLA/ This series is opinionated, meaning we select specific options when there are alternatives, for example AWS vs Heroku or Linux vs Windows. The series targets true beginners: people that have never setup servers or used Linux. In this class, we cover how to setup a host from Amazon Web Services, how to connect to it, some basic Linux commands, and some prep work on creating our own user we can use to connect to the host. I apologize for any video wonkiness. Video is not my specialty. I'd appreciate any help on the next one. Be sure to join the Learn to Code LA Slack channel using https://l2cla-slackin.herokuapp.com/. Thanks for watching!
